Swimming From a Yacht in Dubai: Where You Can Swim & Rules

·3 min read

In short: yes, you can swim from a private yacht in Dubai. The yacht stops in designated swimming spots and near the islands, and the captain decides when it is safe based on the weather and the sea.

Where the yacht stops for a swim

Swimming is not allowed everywhere along the coast. The crew takes you to the spots where yachts are allowed to stop and guests can swim, including the calm water near the islands. The exact spot depends on the route, the wind and the traffic on the water that day.

How long should you book?

  • 2 hours: enough for a short cruise and a quick swim stop.
  • 3–4 hours: a relaxed trip with time to swim, eat and sunbathe.
  • 6 hours or more: several swim stops, lunch on board and water sports.

See yacht rental in Dubai for all yachts and hourly prices.

Safety rules on board

  • Swim only when the captain says it is safe, and only at the spot where the yacht stops.
  • Follow the crew’s safety briefing at all times.
  • Children swim with an adult watching them.
  • The captain may cancel a swim stop because of wind, waves or other boats — safety comes first.
  • Every guest needs an original passport or Emirates ID to board (Coast Guard rule).

What to bring

  • Swimwear, towels and a change of clothes
  • Reef-safe sunscreen, hats and sunglasses
  • A waterproof phone pouch if you want photos in the water
  • Water shoes if you prefer them

Best time of year to swim

The sea in Dubai is warm most of the year. In summer the water is very warm and the sun is strong, so morning and sunset trips are the most comfortable. In winter the water is cooler and the weather is pleasant for long days on deck.

Add water sports to your swim stop

You can add a jet ski, banana boat or donut ride to many yacht trips. See water sports in Dubai for activities and prices.
