A Yacht Event for 100 to 300 Guests in Dubai: The Desert Rose Planning Guide

·3 min read

Dubai has hundreds of yachts, but almost all of them are made for groups of 10 to 65 people. Once your list passes 100 names, the question changes from “which yacht?” to “which venue on the water?”. Desert Rose is that venue: a 165 ft event yacht in Dubai Marina for up to 300 guests, at AED 8,990 per hour with a 4-hour minimum.

Step 1: Match the decks to your programme

Desert Rose has three levels, and a good event uses all of them in order:

  • The sky deck is covered in artificial grass with lounge sofas and long tables. It is where guests arrive, take photos with the Marina towers behind them and come back after dinner for music.
  • The fountain lounge sits in the middle of the yacht, between spiral stairs and a lit water feature. It works as the stage for a welcome speech, a cake moment or a couple’s first dance.
  • The banquet hall is enclosed and air-conditioned, with marble floors, LED ceilings and long dinner tables. This is where the meal and any presentation happen, whatever the weather.

Step 2: Build a 4-hour timeline

Four hours is the minimum and, for most events, the right length. A timeline that works:

  • 0:00 to 0:45 boarding and welcome on the sky deck, ideally 45 minutes before sunset.
  • 0:45 to 1:15 speeches or the main moment in the fountain lounge.
  • 1:15 to 2:45 dinner in the banquet hall while the yacht cruises past JBR towards Ain Dubai.
  • 2:45 to 4:00 music, dessert and photos on the sky deck on the way back to the Marina.

Need more time for a wedding or a gala? Add hours at AED 8,990 each.

Step 3: Choose the food and service level

Packages are priced per guest from 25 guests and served by a premium caterer:

  • Standard, AED 349: buffet, BBQ or canapés with a live station, soft drinks and a beverage package for 4 hours, service staff and security.
  • Premium, AED 449: a premium buffet or canapés with a live station, a beverage package, a hostess and sound and screen setup.
  • Royal, AED 849: a bespoke menu, a beverage package, DJ, hostess, security and full sound and screen setup.

Step 4: Know the real budget

Three real examples, yacht plus food and service:

  • 120 guests, 4 hours, Standard: AED 35,960 + AED 41,880 = AED 77,840.
  • 200 guests, 5 hours, Premium: AED 44,950 + AED 89,800 = AED 134,750.
  • 300 guests, 4 hours, Royal: AED 35,960 + AED 254,700 = AED 290,660.

Your own number takes a few seconds with the calculator on the Desert Rose page.

Step 5: The practical checklist

  • Send the final guest count early, since catering is prepared per guest.
  • Every guest needs an original passport or Emirates ID on boarding day.
  • Tell us about branding, a stage, a cake or flowers when you ask for the quote.
  • The captain confirms the route on the day, depending on the sea and the instructions of the authorities.
